Lane Departure Warning
Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in many cars that we import for our customers that helps prevent unintentional lane drifting. Using cameras or sensors, it monitors the vehicle’s position on the road and alerts the driver if the car starts to veer out of its lane when not using the indicators.
Radar Cruise Control
Radar Cruise Control, also known as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), is an advanced feature that automatically adjusts your car’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. It uses radar sensors (often placed in the front grille or bumper) to detect the distance and relative speed of the car in front.
The driver sets a desired cruising speed, similar to normal cruise control. If the system detects a slower-moving vehicle ahead, it reduces your car’s speed to maintain a safe following distance. Once the lane is clear, or the car in front speeds up, it automatically accelerates back to the preset speed.
Lane Keep Assist
Lane Keep Assist (LKA) is an advanced safety feature that helps prevent a vehicle from unintentionally drifting out of its lane. Unlike Lane Departure Warning (LDW), which only alerts the driver, Lane Keep Assist actively intervenes by gently steering the car back into its lane when it detects the vehicle veering off course without a turn signal.
The system uses cameras, typically mounted near the rearview mirror, to monitor lane markings. If the vehicle begins to drift, LKA will provide slight steering corrections to keep the car centered in its lane. After 10 or so seconds, the LKA turns off and you would then be required to place your hands back on the wheel, and steer yourself. Then it will activate again automatically.
Collision Warning System
A Collision Warning System (CWS) is a safety feature designed to alert the driver when a potential collision is detected. It uses sensors, cameras, radar, or a combination of these technologies to monitor the road ahead and detect vehicles, pedestrians, or obstacles that may pose a risk. Warnings are typically displayed on the dashboard, flash red, and make a loud beep or tone.
Proximity Keyless Entry
Proximity Keyless Entry is a convenience feature that allows drivers to unlock and lock their car doors without needing to physically use a key or press a button on a key fob. The system uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to detect the key fob when it is within a certain range of the vehicle.
As the driver approaches the vehicle with the key fob in their pocket or bag, sensors in the car detect the key fob’s presence. Once the key fob is detected, the system automatically When the driver leaves the vehicle and walks away with the key fob, the system automatically locks the doors.
Automatic Emergency Braking
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is a safety feature that automatically applies the brakes if it detects an imminent collision and the driver does not respond in time. The system is designed to help prevent or reduce the severity of a crash. Using sensors, the system will identify a high likelihood of a collision, it will alert the driver with visual, audible, or haptic warnings.
If the driver doesn’t take action (such as braking or steering) to avoid the collision, the AEB system automatically applies the brakes.
